KI-DISCUS Training Workshop

KI-DISCUS traning workshop provides analysts with the knowledge and necessary tools
to undertake a Ki-Discus test safely and efficiently.

The KI-DISCUS training workshop can be carried out at our premises where a Class 2 cabinet is available. CTS will provide a KI-DISCUS MK II or MK III unit, the necessary consumables and the handout “How to use Ki-Discus” for each attendee.

Duration: 5-6 Hours including a 30 min lunch break.
Class Size: Up to 3 People.
Certification: A certificate would be issued for each attendee who completes the training.
Location: Customer site or Ki-Discus Facility (Portsmouth, UK).
Any travel/accommodation would be your responsibility.

Alternatively, the course can be carried out at your premises providing a Class 1 or Class 2 cabinet, a Ki-Discus Unit and relevant consumables are available.

KI-DISCUS Training Workshop Program

Service procedure for KI-DISCUS™ MK 2

Background

Brief history of the development of the Potassium Iodide test to determine operator protection as required by BS 5726 and the current BS EN 12469:2000.

The Test

The principle of the test and the definition of Operator Protection to 10^5.

Other Containment Tests

Containment tests background, the hierarchy of tests and the place of KI-DISCUS in those tests.

Test Procedure

Set up the equipment, carry out pre test checks and carry out test on a Class 1 or Class 2 safety cabinet. Analyse results.

Maintenance

Cleaning and maintenance of equipment including simple fault analysis.

Test Paper

Certification

A certificate would be issued for each attendee who completes the training.
